Penn Station is one of the busiest rail hubs in the world, located inside Pennsylvania Plaza between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in Chelsea on the edge of Midtown Manhattan. Serving Amtrak, the New York City subway system, New Jersey Transit and the Long Island Railroad, Penn was originally built in 1910 and then remodeled several times. It serves commuters from New York City, Long Island and New Jersey. Penn Station provides service for some 300,000 passengers every day.

New York has unveiled the new $1.6 billion train hall at Penn Station. The new concourse open for business on Jan. 1, 2021, expanding North America's busiest train terminal.

The construction of a new concourse in the iconic Farley Post Office building across Eighth Avenue from Penn Station had been talked about for decades before being set on a concrete path by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2016.

The 255,000 square-foot Moynihan Train Hall, featuring a 92-foot high glass skylight and a lounge for nursing mothers, will feed passengers to 17 Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road tracks and provide more space for the notoriously congested transit hub, which serves 650,000 customers a day.

Penn Station is very convenient with access to the Long Island Railroad, Amtrak and New Jersey Transit, also easy access to Madison Square Garden. Penn Station is best reached by mass transit, but if you must drive there are several nearby parking facilities.
